If you are looking for a peaceful place to hang out and enjoy a colorful atmosphere filled with nature, plants, art, live music, food and fun, right in the middle of the city, you might enjoy hanging out at Paradigm Gardens. Check their calendar of events on their website to find out when they are open for business to the general public.  There is easy and free parking on the streets in the area around the venue.

The primary business of Paradigm Gardens is as a beautiful setting for weddings and events, but they also have a unique school for children K-12 that is 100% free.  The school “is the first and only K-12 garden school in Louisiana,” their “projects based curriculum teaches science, math, history, Spanish, carpentry, art, music, horticulture, community service, reading and entrepreneurship through hands on learning revolving around the rhythms of the seasons at Paradigm Gardens.” They do not accept donations or grants for the school, it is 100% supported through events, and we can also help by purchasing t-shirts, plants and other items.

Tatiana Art – beautiful and colorful pieces
Louisiana Lotus jewelry – made with real pressed flowers

My experience at Paradigm has been through visits on Sundays where there are craft booths, plants for sale, and food created by local chefs. The crafts booths offer unique and beautiful art, jewelry, food, oils and other items of interest. The place is bursting with color from flowers, murals and art, they offer live music, and you can sit and enjoy a home made lemonade or stroll through the flower and vegetable gardens as butterflies fly around you and you hear the sound of birds chirping and the buzzing of bees. Lemonade is served in one of their special glasses with the Paradigm Logo on it, which you can take home with you to keep as a souvenir or you return over and over again and refill it with with lemonade or mimosas. Paradigm Gardens is a beautiful place to hang out, enjoy the view, talk to interesting people of all ages, and you can even pet some goats.
