Believe the Rainbow

A couple of days ago I was feeling kind of blah. The day had started off badly, I was feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders, and I have a lot of pending decisions that are cluttering up my mind. It seems like sometimes adulting means that there is a never ending procession of pending decisions hovering in a cloud above our heads, following us around, throughout our days. Of course, the bright side of this is that we are free to choose instead of having choices made for us!

Anyway, towards the end of the day, we had a rain shower, then the sun came out while it was still raining. I thought to myself, I wonder if there will be a rainbow??? I looked outside of my front door, and lo and behold, a beautiful rainbow appeared! I told myself, “do you see?? there – you received a message of hope, a reminder that everything will be ok!”

But then I started asking myself, but what does it mean? Where is the pot of gold? Why is this beautiful gift not providing me with more information so I can make my decisions????

Today it rained when the sun was out again. Only 2 days later! I stepped outside of my door and there was another rainbow trying to peep out. This one didn’t last as long, but it was enough.

Today’s rainbow reminded me that hope is more important than information or gold. Hope means everything is going to be ok, no matter what I do or decide. The information I am craving will come in time, through other signs, if I am patient. Hope is forever, decisions are temporary. Rainbows are one of the many beautiful signs around us that can bring us peace and hope.
